1511.03 DETECTOR WARNING SYSTEMS.
   (a)   Section F-408.0 Fire Alarm Systems of the Unified Fire Code of Hamilton County, is amended to read as follows:
      (1)   F-408.4: Each owner of single-family dwellings not owner-occupied, multi-family dwellings, two-family dwellings and row house dwellings shall install an approved detector warning system as follows:
         (A)   Adjacent to, but outside of, each sleeping room in such a manner that the alarm signaling device shall be clearly audible in all sleeping rooms when all intervening doors are closed; and
         (B)   On each floor used as living space, where there are no sleeping rooms; and
         (C)   In the basement or cellar, if one exists.
      (2)   F-408. 4.1: An approved detector warning system shall be a smoke detector approved by Underwriters Laboratories or Factory Mutual, shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions and may be either A.C. or D.C. operated.
      (3)   F-408.4.2: Replacement of batteries in detector warning systems located in dwelling units, that are required under any law, ordinance or order, shall be the responsibility of the tenant. All detector warning systems, including those located in dwelling units, that are required under any law, ordinance or order, shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times by the owner.
