(A) No applicant under the age of 18 or over the age of 50 will be accepted as a volunteer member of the Fire Department.
(B) Each applicant for membership as a volunteer member or part-time member of the Fire Department shall obtain and furnish, at his or her sole cost and expense, a physical examination report signed by a practicing physician showing the applicant to be physically qualified to serve as a volunteer member or part-time member of the Fire Department.
(C) Each new member of the Fire Department will serve a probationary period of one year, after which a final decision will be made by the Fire Chief with final approval by the Board, before permanent assignment is made.
(D) Any time a volunteer member or part-time member of the Fire Department should become permanently disabled to serve as a volunteer member or part-time member, he or she shall be placed on the inactive roll.
(E) Each member of the Fire Department shall be required annually to have a physical examination which shall be conducted by a physician selected by the city and at its expense. The physical examination report shall show the member to be physically qualified to serve as a member of the Fire Department.
