§ 156.60 WAYFARER SIGNS.
   Free standing signs used to assist motorists with business locations and directions may be installed by the City of Greendale along the US 50 right of way in both the Local Business A and B zoning designations. Signs shall be located in city rights-of-way or dedicated easements at city dedicated streets meeting all requirements for sight distance and setback requirements. All signs shall be uniform in construction and color. Signs shall be no higher than 20 feet from the center of the road, have an eight foot clearance below the sign as measured from the center of the road. The sign shall be no larger than 200 square feet and shall not exceed 12 feet wide. The sign shall state the street name or designation of the industrial/commercial park with equal sized slot locations for businesses to install their respective signage. City shall have control over all aspects of the design, installation, maintenance and ownership of the sign and slot locations. The preceding does not apply to wayfarer signs already in existence. This paragraph shall not be construed to bestow a right upon anyone and the city has full discretion whether to construct a wayfarer sign. No other entity besides the city may have a wayfarer sign.
