§ 72.18 TERM OF LICENSE; RENEWAL; SUSPENSION OR REVOCATION.
A license issued pursuant to § 72.16 shall be valid for a period of two years commencing from the last day of the month in which it is issued, unless sooner revoked or annulled as hereafter provided. The license may be renewed for any number of successive two-year periods upon payment of an additional license fee as provided in § 72.16 in the amount then in effect for an original license at the time of the renewal. However, in the event that any licensed motorized bicycle is the subject of any violation of the applicable operating rules or regulations as set forth in § 72.20, the Police Chief or a court, at their discretion, may upon notice to the licensee suspend the license for any determinate period not to exceed 60 days; or, if the motorized bicycle is the subject of three or more such violations accumulated during any two-year license term, the Police Chief or court may permanently revoke the motorized bicycle’s license and the same shall not be eligible for relicensure for a period of at least one year thereafter, notwithstanding any expiration of the original license period, while remaining under the ownership of the same licensee. The owner of any motorized bicycle whose license has been revoked as provided above shall also be ineligible to obtain a new license for or to renew the license of any other motorized bicycle until one year following the date of revocation. The suspension or revocation of a license under this section shall be in addition to any civil penalties incurred as hereafter provided.
