§ 153.004 PERMIT AND INSPECTION FEES.
   (A)   The following fees shall be collected for a demolition permit. Site inspection costs are included in the fees.
      (1)   Residential building (single-family, duplex or triplex): $50;
      (2)   Commercial, industrial or multi-family residential (4 + units): $100; and
      (3)   Garage, barn or other accessory structure (greater than 500 square feet): $25.
   (B)   Where more than one building is being demolished on the same lot or contiguous lots for the same owner, a single permit shall be required for each building. The permit fee shall be based upon the classification of each building to be demolished. No permit is required for any structure that is 500 square feet or less.
   (C)   The permit holder shall notify the city upon completion of the demolition. The city will conduct an inspection of the site within 48 hours. If the city finds that such property has been put into the proper and safe condition, as provided for in § 153.006, the city shall return the applicant’s deposit. If the site is not cleared, or put into a safe condition, or work has not commenced to do so, within ten days of the completion of the demolition, the city shall proceed with the work, and the cost of such work shall be deducted from the deposit. If any amount is left from such deposit after the city has performed the work, such balance shall be returned to the person who deposited it. If the cost of the work exceeds the collected deposit amount, the balance shall be charged against the real estate upon which the building was located and shall be a lien upon such real estate.
