(A) Discharge Of Weapons: No person shall fire or discharge any gun, pistol, or other firearm within the village, except upon the premises used duly for licensed shooting gallery or gun club, provided a cannon or piece of artillery may be discharged or fired off in a public way or other public place within the village, upon the express written permission of the village council.
(B) Air Rifles Or Air Pistols 1 :
1. Carrying: It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of eighteen (18) years to carry any air rifle or air pistol on the public streets, roads, highways or public lands within the village, unless such person under eighteen (18) years of age carries such rifle or pistol unloaded.
2. Discharging: It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any air rifle or air pistol from or across any street, sidewalk, road, highway or public land or any public place except on a safely constructed target range.
(C) Exceptions: The provisions of this section shall not apply to sheriffs, coroners, constables, members of the police force or other peace officers engaged in the discharge of their official duties or to any person summoned by such officers to assist in making arrests or preserving the peace while such person so summoned is engaged in assisting such officer. (D) Penalty: Any person violating any provisions of this section shall be fined as set forth in section 1-4-1 of this code for each offense. (Ord., 9-19-1994; amd. Ord. 11-11-07-1, 11-7-2011)
