It shall be unlawful for any person to obtain money or property from another by practicing or assuming to practice the holding of oneself out as skilled in fortune telling by means of card reading, palmistry, phrenology, clairvoyancy, astrology, seership, spirit mediumship or any crafty science, or by means of any other device or practice whereby money is obtained from the general public on the pretense of exercise of occult or psychic powers whether said money or property is obtained directly or indirectly or whether said practice is given in connection with the sale of a product or service.
