§ 130.20 ASSAULT AND BATTERY.
   (A)   Assault is any willful and unlawful attempt or offer with force or violence to do a corporal hurt to another.
   (B)   A battery is any willful and unlawful attempt or offer with force or violence upon the person of another.
   (C)   It shall be unlawful to commit an assault or any assault and battery within the town.
   (D)   It shall be unlawful and an offense for any person, without justification or excusable cause, to knowingly commit any assault, battery or assault and battery upon the person of a police officer or officer of the law while the person is performing his or her duties.
