§ 4-4-4 SOLICITATION LICENSE REQUIRED.
   It shall be unlawful for any person to engage or attempt to engage in solicitation, other than exempt activities, in the village without having first obtained a license from the Chief of Police. On an application form provided by the Chief of Police, the solicitor shall provide his or her identification, including: name, address, phone number, and driver’s license number; filename of the solicitor’s employer; the nature of the products or services involved in the solicitation; the name of the manufacturers of such products or of the organization which the solicitor is representing; and the proposed method of operation in the village. No person shall make any false statement upon any application. The act of signing an application shall constitute consent to a criminal background check by the Chief of Police.
