(a) As provided in the Charter, there is hereby created the position of Director of Information Technology.
(b) Pursuant to Sections 2.5
and 6.3.3
of the Charter, the Director of Information Technology shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to concurrence by Council, and shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor. The Director of Information Technology may be removed from office by written notice of the Mayor without right of appeal to any other body or person.
(c) Under the direction of the Mayor, the Director of Information Technology is responsible for the City's information systems, technology, and information security.
(d) In the performance of his or her duties, the Director of Information Technology shall coordinate all information systems, technology, and information security aspects of the City departments through department heads.
