(a) As provided in Sections 2.5 and 6.3.3 of the Charter, there is hereby created the Sub-department of Development and Administration.
(b) Pursuant to Sections 2.5
and 6.3.3
of the Charter, there is hereby created the unclassified position of Director of Planning and Community Development, who shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to concurrence by Council, and who shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor. The Director of Planning and Community Development may be removed from office by written notice of the Mayor without right of appeal to any other body or person.
(c) Under the direction of the Director of Administration, the Director of Planning and Community Development is responsible for the implementation of the City's Comprehensive Plan, overseeing the City's related short and long term planning, land use and zoning activities, and the development, coordination and implementation of the City's residential, commercial and industrial development efforts and projects.
(d) An annual report shall be submitted to City Council by the Director of Planning and Community Development on or before August 1st of each year.
