(a) The operation officers of the Volunteer Fire Department shall be a Fire Chief, an Assistant Fire Chief and such other company officers as the Chief may deem necessary for the effective operation of the Department.
(b) The Chief shall be appointed by the Mayor for a period of two years, and his or her tenure of office shall depend upon his or her good conduct and efficiency. The Chief shall be removed from office only for just cause and after a fair and impartial hearing before Council.
(c) The Chief shall be held solely accountable only to Council. All other Department and company officers shall be accountable only to the Chief.
(d) The Assistant Chief and all other operation officers shall be appointed by the Chief.
(e) The active membership of the Department shall consist of such persons as may be appointed by the Chief.
