All officers of the Police Department may stop, examine and inspect any vehicle which they may have reasonable cause to believe to be violating any of the terms of this chapter or state Motor Vehicle Code and to require the vehicles to be measured and weighed, or other examination as may be proper or necessary to be made and to compel immediate compliance with all provisions of this chapter.
