7-1-3: AMENDMENTS TO CODE:
The following amendments, modifications, and/or additions are hereby made to the Illinois vehicle code:
   A.   All references in the Illinois vehicle code to "this code" shall be to sections of the Illinois vehicle code.
   B.   References to a state employee or official may be to a corresponding village employee or official where such reference is applicable or necessary. However, the village does not assume any power or authority which, by law, can only be undertaken by the state of Illinois or the Illinois department of transportation.
   C.   Unless a higher minimum fine is otherwise provided in the Illinois vehicle code or the Illinois supreme court rules, a violation of any section of the Illinois vehicle code classified as a petty offense or business offense shall be punishable by a fine of not less than seventy five dollars ($75.00) nor more than the maximum applicable amount for the offense as set forth in the Illinois vehicle code or Illinois supreme court rules.
   D.   Unless a higher minimum fine is otherwise provided in the Illinois vehicle code, Illinois supreme court rules, or other Illinois Compiled Statutes, a violation of any section of the Illinois vehicle code classified as a misdemeanor shall be punishable by a fine of not less than three hundred fifty dollars ($350.00) nor more than the maximum applicable amount for the offense as set forth in the Illinois vehicle code, Illinois supreme court rules, or other Illinois Compiled Statutes.
   E.   625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-501. The minimum fine for a violation of this section shall be one thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200.00). The minimum fine shall be paid in addition to all costs, fees, and additional penalties imposed by the Illinois vehicle code, Illinois supreme court rules, other Illinois Compiled Statutes, and the clerk of the county circuit court.
   F.   625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/12-611. The last paragraph is amended to read as follows:
      The first violation of this provision within a one (1) year period shall be a petty offense punishable by a fine not less than seventy-five dollars ($75.00).
      The second violation of this provision within a one (1) year period shall be a petty offense punishable by a fine not less than one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00).
      The third and subsequent violations of this provision within a one (1) year period shall be a petty offense punishable by a fine not less than three hundred fifty dollars ($350.00).
