A. The provisions of this chapter shall apply to all personal property in the possession of the police department under such circumstances as to justify a reasonable belief that said property has been abandoned, lost, stolen or illegally possessed.
B. This chapter shall also apply to property confiscated or seized by the police department and held as evidence which has not been returned to the owner or owners or persons lawfully entitled to possession nor otherwise disposed of pursuant to state statute or order of court.
C. The provisions of this chapter specifically exclude that property for which custody and disposition is prescribed by article 2 of chapter 4 of the Illinois vehicle code 1 . (Ord. 96-57, 6-6-1996)
