6-1-11: TRAINING:
   A.   Village Participate In State Training Program: The village hereby elects to participate in the police training program provided in the Illinois police training act. (1978 Code § 10-1-10)
   B.   Regular Members To Complete Training Course: No person shall be appointed to the regular police department of the village as a permanent police officer until he has been certified by the Illinois law enforcement training standards board as having successfully completed an approved training course, as provided in the Illinois police training act, and within a probationary period not to exceed one year.
   C.   Board Of Police Commissioners To Require Training In Its Rules: The board of police commissioners shall provide in its rules that any person appointed to the police department of the village shall not become a regular member of said police department until he has completed the training course required by this section not later than eighteen (18) months after the date of his initial employment.    D.   Costs: All costs expended by the village and not reimbursed, on the accomplishment of the police training program by a person appointed as a probationary police officer of the village, shall be repaid, in full, by said person to the village in the event that said person should leave the employment of the village prior to the end of one year following his completion of the police training program and obtains employment with another police department or police agency or organization involving police or investigative work. Each person, as a requirement of his employment as a probationary police officer of the village, shall execute an agreement with the village, on a form provided by the village for this purpose, as a contract and agreement by said person to reimburse the village for such police training program costs as provided in this subsection.
