5-8-1: DEFINITIONS:
For the purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section:
ABANDONED VEHICLE: Any vehicle which is left at any place for such time and under such circumstances as to cause the vehicle to reasonably appear to have been abandoned.
INOPERABLE MOTOR VEHICLE: Any vehicle which has not moved in thirty (30) days, does not display a valid village of Glendale Heights vehicle sticker, does not display a valid state registration plate, has flat tires and/or broken windows or lights, or is in a state of major disassembly, disrepair, or in the process of being stripped or dismantled. A vehicle of any type is permitted to undergo major overhaul, including bodywork; provided, that such work is performed inside a structure or similarly enclosed area designed and approved for such purposes.
PROPERTY: Any real property within the village which is not a street or highway.
STREET OR HIGHWAY: The entire width between the boundary lines of every way publicly maintained when any part thereof is open to the use of the public for purposes of vehicular traffic. (Ord. 2006-67, 11-16-2006)
