It is the intent and purpose of this chapter to:
A. Adopt and implement a program of noise control consistent with and complementary to the Illinois environmental protection act 1 , and to the extent that any provision of this chapter does not meet the minimum standards established by the Illinois environmental protection act and the regulations promulgated thereunder, the provisions of this chapter shall not apply and those minimum standards shall control.
B. Prevent excessive noise originating within the village and to limit, control and eliminate excessive noise in general from sources located within the village. (Ord. 98-70, 12-3-1998)
