It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a restaurant in the village without first obtaining a license therefor or without full compliance with the provisions of this article. Application for such license shall be made in writing to the village clerk on a form to be provided by the clerk, and shall comply with the general provisions of this code relating to licenses. Such license shall not be issued by the village unless the applicant presents, or has presented on his behalf, to the village clerk, satisfactory evidence of the possession of a valid permit from the county board of health. The license fee shall be determined by the square footage of the business as provided in section 4-2-1 of this code. (1978 Code § 3-9-1)
