10-16-2: PROCEDURES FOR MOVING BUILDINGS:
   A.   Damage To Property Prohibited:
      1.   No damage or injury shall be done to any public or private property on account of any moving for which a permit has been issued under the provisions of this chapter. (1978 Code § 8-6-5)
      2.   The granting of the permit required by this chapter does not relieve the grantee of the obligation for any and all damage he might cause to public or private property by reason of the work done under such permit. (1978 Code § 8-6-6)
   B.   Permission From Utility Companies Required: Written permission shall be obtained from each telegraph, telephone, electric light and power or railroad company which might be affected by the moving of any building or structure. If the moving necessitates the cutting or moving of any wires, permission shall be obtained not less than ten (10) days prior to the time of the scheduled moving and prior to the issuance of the moving permit by the village. (1978 Code § 8-6-7)
   C.   Permission To Trim Trees Required: Permission must be obtained from the parks, recreation and facilities department if the moving of any building or structure necessitates the trimming of any tree limbs. All such work shall be done under the supervision of the public works department with all costs being borne by the mover. (1978 Code § 8-6-8; amd. 2011 Code; Ord. 2014-15, 3-20-2014)
   D.   Buildings Standing In Street Restricted: No building in the process of being moved shall be allowed to stand in any street for more than two (2) hours at any one time, except in cases of unavoidable delay due to accident. (1978 Code § 8-6-9)
   E.   Warning Lights Displayed At Night: Warning lights shall be displayed at night so as to properly warn passersby of danger due to any building in the process of being moved. (1978 Code § 8-6-10)
   F.   Littering Public Ways Prohibited: No material, tools or moving equipment shall be allowed to litter the streets when moving is in progress. (1978 Code § 8-6-11)
