§ 97.80 CUTTING TREES; PERMIT REQUIRED.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any telephone company, electric light company, telegraph company or other company or individual to cut, top or in any way injure or mutilate any tree standing on or shading any of the streets within the city limits for the purpose of putting up poles, lines or for any purpose whatsoever without first obtaining a written permit from the City Clerk/Administrator, and when a permit is granted the material cut shall be moved away.
   (B)   Any person violating this section shall be responsible in damages to the owner of the shrubs or trees damaged to the extent of injury done.
