(a) Council hereby establishes an Open Records Policy for the City of Girard, Ohio, pursuant to Ohio House Bill 9 and Ohio’s “Sunshine Laws”.
(b) Council recognizes the need for a records policy to be used as a guide for all City offices to respond to public records requests.
(c) A copy of the Open Records Policy marked as ‘Exhibit A’, is attached to this Ordinance 7569-08 and is incorporated herein as a part of this section.
(d) Records shall be retained for seven (7) years.
(e) An Open Records poster, marked as ‘Exhibit B’ is attached to Ordinance 7569-08 and incorporated herein as a part of this section. This poster shall be prominently displayed in City offices, buildings, and departments.
