As used in this chapter:
(a) "Junk dealers" means persons who purchase, receive or store scrap, old iron or other metal, glass, paper, cordage, old rubber, junked automobiles or other waste or discarded material which may be prepared to be used again in some form.

(b) "Junk gatherers" means any person, firm, partnership, corporation or association of persons who collect and transport the aforesaid articles as set forth in subsection (a) hereof, by means of horse and wagon, motor vehicles and hand-propelled conveyance and boats.
(c) "Secondhand store" means any store or place where used merchandise, old furniture, used chattels, (except secondhand automobiles) goods and fixtures, are kept and offered for exchange or sale.
