§ 50.26 MANAGEMENT OF LEAD ACID BATTERIES, MAJOR APPLIANCES, WASTE OIL AND YARD WASTE.
   Occupants of single-family and two- to four-unit residences, multiple-family dwellings and nonresidential facilities and properties shall manage lead acid batteries, major appliances, waste oil and yard waste as follows.
   (A)   Lead acid batteries shall be picked up at the curb by the recycling service contracted by the village, delivered to the dropoff site or returned to a vendor under the vendor’s repurchase or exchange program. Lead acid batteries may not be disposed of with post consumer waste.
   (B)   Major appliances shall be disposed by making arrangements with licensed recycling service for pickup. A charge will be made for the pickup. For white goods that contain freon or oil capacitors, a charge will be made by the recycling service.
   (C)   Waste oil shall be delivered to the dropoff site provided by the village for recycling services. Waste oil may also be returned to a vendor under the vendor’s repurchase recycling or exchange program. Waste oil may be left at curbside for recycling.
   (D)   Yard waste shall be delivered to the village’s composting area at the former Ridge and Furrow site.
