Council members shall assume the duties of office at the close of the agenda prior to adjournment at the next regularly scheduled Council meeting following the date of the general election and official canvass; however, the assumption shall be prior to the election of the Mayor and Vice-Mayor pursuant to the provisions of § 31.025, as hereinafter provided.
