§ 131.01 FIREARMS PROHIBITED IN TOWN HALL.
   (A)   No person shall carry, possess, sell, or trade any firearm(s) inside the Town Hall.
   (B)   For purposes of this section, the term FIREARM means any weapon that is capable of or designed to, or that may be readily converted to, expel a projectile by means of an explosion, pursuant to I.C. 35-47-1-5 and all successor statutes that may be enacted.
   (C)   This section shall not apply to the lawful performance of official duties by an officer, agent, or employee of the United States, a state or a political subdivision thereof, who is authorized by law to engage in or supervise the prevention, detection, investigation, or prosecution of any violation of law. Additionally, this section shall not apply to the possession of a firearm by a federal, state, or local official or a member of the United States armed forces if the possession is authorized by law.
   (D)   Notice of the prohibition of firearms shall be conspicuously posted at each public entrance of the Town Hall, and no person shall be found to be in violation of this section if the notice is not so posted.
