1424.01  ADOPTION BY REFERENCE.
   (a)   There is hereby adopted by and for the City, for the purpose of establishing wiring and equipment standards for electrical installations in buildings and structures, including permits and penalties, the National Electrical Code, the current edition, promulgated by the National Fire Protection Association, save and except such portions as may be hereinafter deleted, modified or amended, which Code is incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date on which this chapter takes effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the wiring and equipment of all buildings and structures in the City.
   (b)   As the National Electrical Code is updated from time to time and subsequent editions are made available, this Building and Housing Code shall automatically incorporate the most recent and up to date edition of such Code.
