(a) Prior to the issuance of any street excavation or tunneling permit, the applicant shall provide proof of adequate public liability insurance, furnished to himself or herself and to the City of Geneva, protecting from claims arising out of the performance of the permitted work or in any way connected therewith. Such insurance shall also cover collapse, explosion, hazards and underground work by equipment on the street and shall include protection against liability arising from completed operations. The amount of the insurance shall be prescribed by the City Manager in accordance with the nature of the risk involved. However, the liability insurance shall not be less than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for any one person injured in any accident, with a total liability of three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) for all persons injured in any one accident, in the amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for each accident as compensation for damage caused to property other than that of the applicant. Self-insurers, operating under the supervision of the Ohio Public Utilities Commission, may be relieved of the obligation of submitting certificates if they are self-insured in accordance with the requirements of Ohio R.C. 4123.35 and if they submit certificates thereof acceptable to the Law Director.
(b) The applicant shall further agree to conform to and abide by all provisions imposed by any City ordinance or other laws or rules, regulations and specifications as may be promulgated by the City Manager, the City Engineer or the Street Department Superintendent.
