(a) Notwithstanding the stated maximum financial penalties authorized in Chapter 698 and Chapter 408 of these Codified Ordinances, whenever a person is originally charged with any violation under this chapter, and that person ultimately is convicted of or pleads to any offense stemming from the drug charge, whether drug related or not, then in addition to any fine imposed, the trial court shall impose an additional penalty of seventy-five dollars ($75.00), which is to be credited by the City finance director into the City of Geneva Law Enforcement Trust Fund created by Ordinance 2164.
(b) Division (a) of this section shall be interpreted to allow for the imposition of fines up to the following amounts:
(1) For a misdemeanor of the first degree, not more than one thousand seventy-five dollars ($1,075.00);
(2) For a misdemeanor of the second degree, not more than eight hundred twenty-five dollars ($825.00);
(3) For a misdemeanor of the third degree, not more than five hundred seventy-five dollars ($575.00);
(4) For a misdemeanor of the fourth degree, not more than three hundred twenty-five dollars ($325.00);
(5) For a minor misdemeanor, not more than two hundred twenty-five dollars ($225.00).
