(A) Angle parking required in downtown business area.
(1) All motor vehicles in the downtown business area shall be parked at a 45-degree angle, with the right front wheel or single wheel of a motorcycle within 18 inches of the curb.
(2) All motor vehicles shall park on the right-hand side of the street from the proper direction of travel. No vehicle shall be allowed to proceed into a diagonal parking space which would required the driver to cross the center of the street and would result in facing the direction in which it came. In turn, when backing out of the diagonal parking spot, the driver may not back out and cross the center of the street in a manner that would result in proceeding in the opposite direction as originally parked. Violation to this type of parking manner results in the driver committing a petty offense.
(3) Exception to required angle parking in the downtown business area would be at those times when the streets are being removed of snow by the city crew or subcontractors contracted by the city. At such time, parallel parking in the downtown business area is allowed.
(B) Off-street parking.
(1) No parking spaces are permitted in the required front yard within the Residential (R) District, except for portions of the front yard with a hard surface, gravel improved driveway, or parking pad which follows zoning and building requirements. Parking is permitted in a side yard or rear yard on a hard surface, gravel parking pad, or driveway, as long as it is no closer than two feet from the property line.
(2) No parking is permitted on sidewalks or extending into the right-of-way.
