§ 11.10.005  DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR.  Any spirits, wine, beer, ale or other liquid containing more than 0.5% alcohol by volume, which is fit for beverage purposes.
   BOWLING ALLEYS.  Any establishment or building, or any part thereof, wherein the game of bowling played with composition balls and ten wooden pins is played.
   CLUB.  A corporation organized under the laws of this state, not for pecuniary profit, solely for the promotion of some common object other than the sale and consumption of alcoholic liquors, which conforms to the definition of a club in 235 ILCS 5/1-3.24.
   HOTEL.  Every building or other structure kept, used, maintained, advertised and held out to the public as a place where food is actually served and consumed and sleeping accommodations are offered for adequate pay to the traveler and guest, whether transient, permanent or residential, in which 25 or more rooms are used for sleeping accommodations and dining rooms are conducted in the same building or buildings, structure or structures, being provided with adequate and sanitary kitchen and dining room equipment and capacity, as defined in 235 ILCS 5/1-3.25.
   RESTAURANT.  Any public place kept, used, maintained, advertised and held out to the public as a place where meals are served, and where meals actually are served and regularly served, without sleeping accommodations and the space being provided with adequate and sanitary kitchen and dining room equipment and capacity and having employed therein a sufficient number and kind of employees to prepare, cook and serve suitable food for its guests, as defined in 235 ILCS 5/1-3.23.
   RETAIL SALE.  The sale for use of or consumption and not for resale.
   SPECIAL EVENT.  Any village sponsored community event, specifically including Gardner Days Celebration, or such other community event as may be determined and declared by the Village of Gardner Liquor Commissioner.
