§ 9.20.180  DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   ASHES.  Residue from fires used for cooking and for heating buildings.
   GARBAGE.  The general accumulations of animal, fruit or vegetable matter that attend the preparation, use cooking, dealing in or storage of meat, fish fowl, fruits or vegetables and containers originally used for foodstuffs.
   REFUSE.  The general accumulations of waste materials as may be accumulated day to day in an average residential unit including:
      (1)   Papers, cartons, boxes, furniture, box springs, mattresses, bath tubs and discarded appliances; and
      (2)   But shall not include such items as: broken concrete, building materials, rocks, fallen trees, dirt or any household item too large to be placed in a compactor-type truck.
   RUBBISH.  Garbage, refuse or both.
   YARDWASTE.  (Trees, shrubs, grass clippings and leaves) are not considered rubbish.
