When a vehicle is towed and impounded under this chapter, the Police Department shall maintain a record of the motor vehicle towed and impounded. The record shall list the color, year of manufacture, manufacturer’s trade name, manufacturer’s series name, body-style, motor vehicle identification number, license plate year and number, registration sticker year and number displayed on the motor vehicle, the date and hour of the towing, location towed from, location towed to, reason for towing, and the name of the police officer authorizing the tow.
