4-3-3: FALSE ALARMS PROHIBITED; EXCEPTION:
   A.   Specified:
      1.   Prohibited: It shall be unlawful for any person to give, signal or transmit, or for any person to cause or permit to be given, signaled or transmitted in any manner, any false alarm.
      2.   Exception: Alarm systems undergoing approved maintenance or repairs of which the chief has received advance notice that the maintenance or repair may cause the occurrence of a false alarm.
   B.   Nuisance Declared: The possession, keeping, use or maintenance of any alarm which consistently fails to operate properly or which gives, signals or transmits an unreasonable number of false alarms is declared to be a nuisance, subject to abatement and fine or punishment as set forth in section 4-3-4 of this chapter.
   C.   Fire Drills: Nothing in this section shall prohibit the sounding of any such signal essential for the carrying on of any fire drill. The chief may require that he be notified in advance when such signal will be sounded. (Ord. C97-4, 6-10-1997, eff. 7-18-1997)
