A. Authority; Options: Except as prohibited under section 1-4-5 of this chapter, probation upon entry of a plea of guilty or judgment of conviction when the magistrate judge is satisfied that such will serve the ends of justice and of the public, he may:
1. Suspend, in whole or in part, the execution of the sentence; or
2. Place the defendant on probation for a period not exceeding one year on terms and conditions the court deems best; or
3. Suspend, in whole or in part, the execution of the sentence and place the defendant on probation for a period not exceeding one year on terms and conditions the court deems best.
B. Discharge Of Liability: The defendant's liability for any fine or other punishment imposed is fully discharged upon the successful completion of the terms and condition of probation. (Ord. C61-25, 4-21-1964)
