1-14-1: ESTABLISHED:
A police reserve unit is established as an organization of persons appointed and sworn as members or trainees thereof by the chief of police. For the purpose of this chapter, a "trainee" means a person who has been accepted into training to qualify to become a member of the reserve unit. Members and trainees shall be volunteer workers only and are not employees of the city or of the police department for any purpose, but shall be agents of the city when acting in an official capacity on specific assignments given by the chief of police or his designee. They shall serve voluntarily, without pay. (Ord. C88-5, 6-5-1988)
