§ 33.41 POWERS AND DUTIES.
   (A)   It shall be the power and duty of the Planning Department to review proposed subdivision plans and make recommendations thereon, to prepare or review updates, revisions or amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, Subdivision Ordinance, Zoning Ordinance, Capital Development Plan, Official Map or other ordinances or planning materials as may be necessary from time to time. In lieu of the existence of a Planning Commission, as provided for in §§ 33.25 through 33.27, the Planning Department shall have all of the powers and duties as provided for therein. In addition, the Planning Department shall have all other powers and duties as provided by the Illinois Compiled Statutes.
   (B)   If there exists an appointed Planning Commission, as provided for in §§ 33.25 through 33.27, the Planning Department shall serve to advise and provide professional help to the Planning Commission.
