No person shall drive or convey through any street or bridge any vehicle the width, height, length, weight or load of which exceeds the limits established by the town, county or state as indicated by appropriate signs erected on the street, road or bridge, unless a permit or approval has been granted therefor by the state or the Town Police Chief.
