§ 32-1 CURFEW FOR MINORS.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of 18 years to be on the public streets and ways of the city, whether on foot or in a vehicle, or to be in public places, buildings, places of amusement, vacant or uninhabited or unused premises at any time between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
   (B)   The provisions of subsection (A) of this section shall not apply to a minor who is:
      (1)   Accompanied by the minor’s parent or guardian or any other person 21 years of age or older authorized by a parent to be caretaker for the minor;
      (2)   On an errand at the direction of the minor’s parent, guardian or caretaker without any detour or stop;
      (3)   In a vehicle involved in interstate travel;
      (4)   Engaged in certain employment activity or going to or from employment, without any detour or stop;
      (5)   Involved in an emergency;
      (6)   On the sidewalk that abuts the minor’s or the next door neighbor’s residence, if the neighbor has not complained to the police;
      (7)   In attendance at an official school, religious or other recreational activity sponsored by the city, a civic organization or another similar entity that takes responsibility for the minor, or going to or from, without any detour or stop, such an activity supervised by adults; and
      (8)   Exercising First Amendment rights, including free exercise of religion, freedom of speech and the right of assembly.
   (C)   It shall be unlawful for the parent, guardian or other adult having the care or custody of a minor under the age of 18 years to knowingly permit the minor to commit the offense defined in subsection (A) of this section unless permitted under subsection (B) of this section.
   (D)   Any minor who violates the provisions of this section who is required by statutes to be transferred to the Juvenile Court shall be transferred to the Court and any other person violating the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction in the District Court, be punished as prescribed in § 1-10.
