§ 1-10 GENERAL PENALTY; CONTINUING VIOLATIONS.
   It shall be unlawful for any person to violate or fail to comply with any provision of this code and where no specific penalty is provided therefor, the violation of any provision of this code shall be a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not exceeding $500 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or by both the fine and imprisonment; provided, however, that, the fine, forfeiture or penalty for a violation of this code shall not be less than the fine, forfeiture or penalty imposed by any state statute for the same offense. Each day any violation of any provision of this code shall continue shall constitute a separate offense, unless otherwise provided in this code.
