Each member of the human relations commission shall be appointed to serve a term of two years. No member shall serve more than three consecutive two-year terms. If any member of the commission resigns or terminates his or her service for any reason before his or her term has expired, the city council shall appoint a qualified successor to fill any vacancy which may result, to serve for the remainder of the term.
