(A) No ambulance regulated by this chapter, whether it be equipped for paramedic, advanced life support (ALS) or basic life support (BLS) and whether used for emergency or non-emergency purposes, shall be used to provide ambulance service unless the ambulance has been issued a permit by the Medical Director.
(B) No helicopter rescue unit regulated by this chapter shall be used to provide any emergency medical service unless it has been issued a permit by the Medical Director.
