(A) The Historic Preservation Commission shall consist of five members. The terms of Commission members shall be for three years.
(B) (1) The Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The Commission shall be comprised of at least four residents of the City of Fort Madison and the fifth member may be a Lee County resident.
(2) Members of the Commission shall be appointed with due regard to proper representation of residents and their relevant fields of knowledge, including, but not limited to, history, architecture, archaeology, urban planning, law, sociology, historic preservation, architectural history, real estate, education or the building trades.
