(A) Every motor vehicle weighing five tons or more, when loaded or empty, having no fixed terminal within the city or making no scheduled or definite stops within the city for the purpose of loading or unloading shall travel over or upon the following streets within Fort Madison and none other:
(1) Business Highway 61 from the east limits to the intersection of 2nd Street and Avenue H and from the intersection of 2nd Street and Avenue H to the west limits of the city;
(2) X32 from the north limits of the city to 15th Street, and following 15th Street south to the junction of Business Highway 61 at 15th Street and Avenue H; and
(3) J40 from the north limits of the city to the junction of Business Highway 61 at 18th Street and Avenue H.
(B) Any motor vehicle weighing five tons or more, when loaded or empty, having a fixed terminal or making a scheduled or definite stop within the city for the purpose of loading or unloading, shall proceed over or upon the designated routes set out in this section to the nearest point of its scheduled or definite stop and shall proceed thereto, load or unload and return by the most direct route to its point of departure from said designated route.
(E) Exception: recreational vehicles may be driven on residential streets for the purposes of storage on private property.
(F) Any operator of a motor vehicle violating this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
(G) The owner or any other person employing or otherwise directing the driver of any vehicle and requiring or knowingly permitting the operation of such vehicle in violation of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
(H) Violation of this section shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $100 or imprisonment not exceeding 30 days.
