§ 8-10-11 CEMETERY FOUNDATIONS.
   (A)   Location. Cemetery staff shall mark the location of the lot for each foundation order in a timely fashion (seven working days from receipt of the foundation order) and shall approve the location of the foundation on the lot. The contractor is responsible for the positioning of the foundations as per order given by monument company/funeral home, so long as that position is not in conflict with established city guidelines.
   (B)   Size.
      (1)   The size of the foundation is determined by the size of the monument being placed on the foundation. The monument shall be centered on the foundation with ten inches on each side of the monument, and four inches on front and rear of the monument. Floral containers may be placed in this ten-inch space at each end.
      (2)   Example: a monument that measures 36 inches by ten inches would need a foundation that measures 56 inches by 18 inches. The maximum width of the foundation shall be 24 inches. The length of the monument shall not exceed farther than one foot from each side of the total lot(s) owned by the individual.
      (3)   It shall be the responsibility of the individual or company selling the monument to contact the city to assure the size of the lot will accommodate the foundation.
   (C)   Depth.
      (1)   The foundation shall be dug at a minimum of two feet deep, the full width of the foundation, with 12-inch postholes another one foot deep. One posthole for every 20 inches of foundation.
      (2)   Example: 60-inch long foundation will need three postholes.
   (D)   Rerod. Rerod shall be used to tie the postholes together with the rest of the foundations.
   (E)   Alternative. If the postholes and rerod are not desirable to the contractor, then the foundations may be dug three and one-half feet deep the full width of the foundation.
   (F)   Inspection. The cemetery staff shall inspect all foundations prior to delivery of concrete. If any violations are found, said violations must be corrected prior to delivery of concrete. All costs associated with the foundation will be the responsibility of the contractor and not the city.
