§ 8-10-6 SALE OF SPACES/LOTS.
   (A)   The sale or transfer of interment rights in the cemeteries shall be evidenced by a certificate of interment rights (formerly known as a “deed”) or other instrument evidencing the conveyance of exclusive rights of interment upon payment in full of the purchase price. The certificate shall be executed by the Mayor and Clerk on behalf of the city with the city seal affixed thereto. The certificate shall disclose all information required by the state’s Cemetery Act, including the amount or percentage of money to be placed in the Perpetual Care Cemetery Fund.
   (B)   The sale of interment rights shall be sold at prices as may be prescribed by resolution of the Council. Interment rights may be conveyed by any owner to any persons not immediately related to such owner, but only upon the approval of the City Clerk. The intent is not to allow public sale of interment rights for profit.
