§ 7-12-4 FIREWORKS SALES REGULATION.
   (A)   License. No person, retailer, consumer group or otherwise shall sell, store, offer for sale or display any fireworks without possessing a consumer fireworks sellers license as required under Iowa Code Chapter 100, including maintaining insurance in accordance with Iowa law.
   (B)   Permanent structures. Fireworks may be sold from permanent structures from June 1 through July 8 and from December 10 through January 3.
   (C)   Temporary structures. Fireworks may be sold from temporary structures from June 13 through July 8.
   (D)   Area. The sale or display of fireworks shall only occur within B-2, B-3, B-4, I-1 and I-2 Zoning Districts. All setbacks and other regulations for sale of fireworks shall be set forth or adopted by the state and/or the state’s Fire Marshal.
   (E)   Inspections. Any property, building or premises whether it be a permanent or temporary, intended for fireworks sales shall have an initial fire inspection completed by the Fire Chief or his or her designee prior to engaging in fireworks sales. The Fire Chief or designee shall cause an annual inspection to occur to each selling period meeting the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association 1124 (2006 edition and amendments thereto) and the current Fire Code adopted by the city.
