While performing official duties, each member of the city’s Police Department Reserve Officers Unit shall be considered an employee of the city and shall be paid a minimum of $1 per year. The City Council, at its discretion, may provide additional monetary assistance for the purchase of uniforms or equipment used by the Reserve police unit, but said compensation shall not exceed the allowance provided in Iowa Code § 80D.11.
