§ 7-5-12 ABUSE TO ANIMALS.

   The following acts shall constitute abuse to animals and shall subject owner or harborer to a simple misdemeanor charge for the commission thereof:

   (A)   Failure to provide the animal with food, water and shelter;

   (B)   Beating, tormenting, overloading or overworking an animal;

   (C)   Permitting or encouraging any combat between animals or between animals and humans;

   (D)   Abandoning any animal;

   (E)   Exposing any known poisonous material with intent of allowing or encouraging the material to be eaten by any domesticated animals;

   (F)   Failure to maintain sanitary conditions where animals are kept; and

   (G)   Harboring or owning any diseased or injured animals without procuring veterinarian care for said animals.
