§ 6-5-23 MATERIAL FOR SERVICE PIPES.
   (A)   Pipe material three-fourths inch through two inches. All water service pipes of three-fourths inch through two-inch diameter shall be seamless type K copper or CTS 200 psi blue pipe. All pipe material must be approved by the city that is hooked or connected to the city water supply.
   (B)   Pipe material four inches or larger. All water services of four-inch diameter and larger shall be ductile iron pipe or DR 18 PVC (C-900).
   (C)   Ductile iron pipe spec. All ductile iron water service piping shall be cement mortar lined, Class 52 thickness and conform to AWWA standard C151.
   (D)   Tracing wire. With any non-metallic piping used, tracing wire shall be installed in accordance with SUDAS specifications. All non-metallic water mains will have a tracer wire installed below the pipe, but not to exceed one foot below the pipe, no splices will be allowed unless a termination box is installed in the run.
   (E)   Fittings, joints and connections. All joints, connections and fittings shall be of type and installation according piping material used as specified in the SUDAS manual and specifications.
